Loved it. I ordered the tuna tataki as shown in the front photo on Yelp btw. However, I ordered it without the ponzu sauce, strict diet. $7.95 fresh perfectly sliced tuna. Delicious!

Entree was also impressive. I ordered the Sashimi Dinner 10pcs variety of daily fresh fish and 6pc salmon roll. All for $19.75. It was really good! And the presentation really wowed me for Bay St. Louis! Very excited to have this place a few minutes from home! Yeah!!!!

This place is the best steak hibachi in town. Always fresh and hot..also try thr miso soup especially in this cold weather. My favorite spot for steak and don't have to go far to eat..

I'm not sure how to rate Yamato. It was excellent right off the bat, but it has rapidly changed.  The fried rice isn't what it was, and the hibachi vegetables have changed from a lightly seasoned caramelized delight to a pile of mushy bits with a sweet, unappetizing sauce.

The sushi was very good quality in the beginning, but the last couple of times I've visited, at least some of the fish have tasted like it had been around a bit too long. The hibachi meats, which I tried only once, were tough, dry, and flavorless, unlike any hibachi place I've ever visited.

We were visiting on average once a week, but after the last three visits, we haven't been back for over a month. I'm not sure what happened there, but I hope very much the changes are reversed. It was once so good.

I'll give it three stars because it's still possible to have a good meal there, but my last three visits have been a definite Meh.

My new Favorite on the MS. gulf coast. Sashimi was extremely fresh the rolls were fantastic. The only draw back is no Liquor license so no Sake with your meal. Service was great and food came out quick.
This will be my new ( GO TO ) for Sushi.

We go here a lot, mostly because you can get a lot of vegetables with your dinner and they taste good.  The lack of one star is because the hibachi steak and chicken are a problem.  The steak is a poor cut and not cooked well.  The chicken isn't cooked well and is pretty tasteless.  Everything else, when fresh, is great!   I recommend the salmon bento for lunch.

Our experience with the staff was that everyone is nice.  Some folks recognize us now - which indicates we might be coming too often.  Ah well, I can live with that.
